What is the difference between computer programming and network administration?

Im having my PC BS Information System in college now, but I must choose a concentration area, I do not know the difference, a choice of network management and programming said Microsoft said. My advisors Schools are not able to make a difference, does anyone know the difference and better paid? and greater demand? And if you could guess what you think have the best job prospects?

Computer programming typically involves writing code. This means that learning programming languages such as C + +, Java you can write applications and software. Network management is more about setting up a network. There is likely that the course was on software such as Microsoft Exchange (mail server), IIS Web server, and talk about how to create and manage user accounts. The course is also going to go for things like network protocols (eg telnet, ftp, ssh etc.), configuring routers, firewalls and switches. Microsoft is not known, because network devices is difficult for me to guess exactly what is taught in the form of network devices.
