What can I use to make a sprite RPG for the computer.
I would like to make a sprite-based RPG for the team, similar to Tales of Phantasia GBA. (IE I want to make a wak Overworld and a linear battle system). Does anyone know how I can do to make one? I have a story and I can make my own sprites, but how I can go to makeing a game? What programs can I use, etc. … I just want to emphasize I'd like a linear motion battle system, my previous experience with RPG Maker Game Maker and the above programs can not do that. I can and I want to make my own sprites.
Do you have programming experience? It will be easier if you have programming experience, but you can do a game with no programming experience.
