I have trouble linking words as they learn the Japanese language?
I have trouble linking words as they learn the Japanese language. Now I'm trying to learn the Japanese language. I've been at it for about 5 months, but I am constantly reading books, books, maps, computer programs (Tell Me More Japanese, to be exact), listen to audio CDs, podcasts and watch Japanese television programs on youtube. It is a daily process about 3-5 hours per day. But I can not associate the words in Japanese. After a sentence is spoken, I have to think for a minute and say, "Ok, so [anata] means [that] and [daidokoro] means []……" kitchen and so on … Any advice on how to get this to be a little easier? I know it will take time, do you not expect to learn overnight. Any advice is welcome. Thank you. ** Please do not suggest Rosetta Stone. I considered the question and did not like the program (or the ridiculous cost), which explains why the choice "Tell Me More: Japanese" instead.
I'm trying to learn Japanese and have the same problem for you. I think most people who learn a foreign language can rectify this problem in the early phase of their learning. As you mentioned, I think it will take time to overcome, and I hope you are more optimistic.
