Books on how a computer actually works?
Can anyone recommend a book that teaches how a computer actually works? Be how to build a team, but I'm looking now for the next step in understanding … What I want to know is what in reality composed of signals / how they are processed / How to become a code on the computer screen, this kind of thing. After this step, I intend to go to programming. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Cheers.
Like a previous poster already suggested, the Code of Petzold is very good and very easy to read. But if you really want to know, then you must go to books that are a little more academic and more difficult to read. Go to Amazon and find books on "Organization of the computer: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/105-0893672-8601251?url=search-alias% 3DAP and field keywords = + structure of the personal computer, I like Tanenbaum book (currently in third from the top).
